The University of Chicago Medical Center launched its Office of Business Diversity in 2001 based on the principle that, "Business Diversity is just Good Business". We aim to contribute to institutional excellence and the outstanding performance of the Medical Center by cultivating mutually beneficial business relationships with certified minority- and women-owned firms. Through these relationships we will enhance the quality of our supplier base, demonstrate our commitment to diversity, foster economic development, and strengthen our partnership with the communities we serve.
An effective Business Diversity process optimizes the performance of our supply chain, construction projects and professional services through an open and inclusive sourcing process. We look to partner with high-performing, creative and innovative firms that can drive cost savings, improve our overall quality of service and improve our competitive position in the market. We organize our efforts in three major domains: Construction Compliance, Professional Services & Supply Chain which includes our core Goods & Services.
